Completion of Berlin’s former Tegel airport redevelopment into the “Berlin TXL” urban tech park has been delayed from 2030 to 2035 after Senate budget shortfalls and rising costs — now estimated at €833m versus €450m. Dismantling and pollutant removal run until early 2026; the Berlin University of Applied Sciences’ planned 2027 move is postponed, and neither the university nor Science Senator Ina Czyborra were informed.
